Obituary of Robert W. Jordan
Robert "Bob" W. Jordan, age 60 of Chadds Ford, PA died on October 8, 2017 at Riddle Hospital. Born in Darby, PA and raised in Collingdale, he resided for the past 24 years in Chadds Ford, PA, previously residing in Springfield, PA. Bob was a self employed private investigator for over 20 years retiring in 2013 and currently owned his own antique store in the Chadds Ford Antique Mall, specializing in military antiques. In his earlier career, Bob was a deputy sheriff in Media, PA and later worked for the Department of Defense as a police officer at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. He graduated from Collingdale High School class of 1975 and then attended and played football at the Naval Academy. For the years 1979-81, Bob was also a former NFL player for the New York Jets. He also earned his degree in Criminal Justice from Delaware County Community College. Bob was a member of the St. Cornelius Church and was an avid Eagles and Flyers fan. He enjoyed his antique shop, was a history buff and in his earlier years he was a volunteer fire fighter for Collingdale Fire Co.2. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent Jordan and Sarah A. Sennick Jordan Boegel and is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dolores M. Simon Jordan, daughter, Jennifer Jordan, step father, John Boegel, father and mother in law, James and Dolores Lynch Simon, brother in law, James P. Simon and his 2 furry buddies, Tux and Rusty. A visitation will be held on Friday, 9-9:45AM at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA, followed by funeral mass at 10:00AM. Interment is private. Donations in his memory may be made to Crozer Keystone Hospice, 200 W. Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064.
