Obituary of Leon V. Talmage

Leon V. Talmage, age 90, of Garnet Valley PA and Venice FL passed away peacefully on August 2, 2017 in the Pinebrook Nursing Center in Venice FL. Beloved husband of Barbara W. Talmage, devoted father of David W. Talmage (Fern Abrams) and Susan E. Talmage, loving grandfather of Emma, Leah, Frances and Jesse Homan, father-in-law of John H. Homan. Leon is predeceased by a daughter, Katherine T. Homan who passed away in September of 2009. For many years, Leon and his family lived in Delmar and were members of the Delmar Presbyterian Church where he was instrumental in taping the Sunday services to be taken to the shut-ins in the congregation. In 1995, he retired from the New York State Public Service Commission as a Systems Engineer and a Professional Engineer. He served as a scout master for troop 75 at St. Stephens Church in Elsmere. He was a graduate of VPI in Blacksburg VA Class of 1950 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was elected to Eta Kappa Nu, a honorary engineering society and became a Life Member. A Memorial Service will be held on September 30, 2017 at 1 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 W Pleasant Grove Rd, West Chester, PA 19382. Burial will be held privately at a later date at Laurelwood Cemetery in South Stroudsburg, PA.
