Obituary of Betty L Lewis

Betty Lewis, age 82, a native of Bethel Township, died Monday July 17, 2017. Betty was the cherished wife of Paul Lewis for nearly 65 years having united in marriage on November 1, 1952. The eldest daughter of the late George Arthur and Nellie Magdelena (Dawson) Davis, Betty Louise was born in Ogden, PA on December 26, 1934. She graduated from Media High School in 1953, and devoted her life to her home and family. In retirement, she and Paul enjoyed boating, fishing, crabbing, camping, metal detecting and travel. She found value in little things. In addition to her husband, Paul, Betty is survived by their five sons and two daughters, Paul Lewis, Jr of West Chester, PA, Robert C. Lewis of Bear, DE, Steve D. Lewis of Nottingham, PA, Nora L. Margetich of West Chester, PA, Marie L. Lewis of New Castle, DE, Kenneth B. Lewis of Double Oak, TX and Jeffrey H. Lewis of Garnet Valley, PA, as well as ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers and one sister, Wallace E. Davis of Oak Hill, FL, Ralph P. Davis of Chadds Ford, PA and M. Marie Grissom of New Castle, DE. She was predeceased by her older brother G. Norman in 2016 and her youngest sister, Margaret J. Carter in 2008. Following a private funeral service, Betty will be interred in Siloam United Methodist Church Cemetery, Bethel Township, PA.
