Obituary of Robert Burton

Robert Welch Burton, born December 9, 1940, died peacefully on Saturday July 1, 2017. In addition to his parents, William & Mary Welch Burton, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Diane (nee Reynolds), and brother John H. Burton. He is survived by his sister Albertine Burton Becker, sister-in-law Susan Taylor (Robert), three brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob graduated from Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University) then honorably served his country as a Lieutenant in the US Army stationed in Korea. He returned home to attend Seton Hall Law School. He was first elected as a Judge in 1975 and continued to serve in this capacity for 24 years. That same year Bob returned to Widener as an adjunct professor and it was there that he met the love of his life Diane.They married on December 9, 1977, and lived in Havertown in the home where he grew up until retiring to their home at the Spinnaker in Sea Isle City, NJ in 1999. In 2008 Bob and Diane moved to Maris Grove in Glen Mills, PA, and enjoyed being part of the community for the past several years.
