Obituary of Antonio Conti
Antonio "Tony" Conti, also known as Tonino, age 93 of Drexel Hill, PA died peacefully on June 9, 2017 surrounded by his family at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Tony was born in Sant'Angelo del Pesco, Italy to the late Francesco and Anna Camellia Conti (nee Preziosi). He immigrating to the U.S. in 1942 at the age of 19 with his family. Tony resided for the past 4 years in Drexel Hill, previously residing in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia. A tailor by trade for 78 years, Tony retired in 1994. He was devoted to his faith and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Drexel Hill and former member of St. Donato Church in Overbrook. Tony had a passion for singing, baking, cooking, gardening and sewing. He was also known for his Pizzelles, enjoyed by his family at all family gatherings. In addition to his parents, Tony is preceded in death by 2 siblings, Riccardo and Maria Loreta Conti. He is survived by his nephew, Lou and his wife Mary Conti with whom he lived, great nephews, Louis Jr. (Janine) Conti and Matthew (Jason) Wright-Conti, great great nieces and a nephew, Anthony, Dina and Brielle Conti, and many extended family members. Uncle Tony was adored by his nieces and nephews and their children, big ones and little ones and had an impact on every one of their lives. What an amazing legacy he left for everyone. Pride, love and devotion in family strong faith, with their Italian heritage. It is crazy what one little man did for all of us in 4 short years. He loved us all, we loved his stories, his laughter and loved watching him enjoy his wine. We will miss our Santa at Christmas in July, You will be forever in our hearts. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, 9:45-10:45AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM. Interment S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers donations in Tony's memory may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 5300 Chester Avenue Philadelphia, Pa. 19143.
