Obituary of James L. Lowe

Rev. Dr. James L. Lowe Sr., age 87, of Aston, PA passed away peacefully on April 4, 2017. Born and raised in Chattanooga, TN, Rev. Lowe has resided in Aston, PA for 15 years and previously in Bethel Twp., PA. He received his Masters of Divinity from the Crozer Theological Seminary. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a Naval Captain and Chaplain serving 25 years. Dr. Rev. Lowe served many churches including Spruce Street Baptist and Third Baptist Church in South Philadelphia. In addition to his parents, Frank and Virginia Bower Lowe, he is preceded in death by a brother, Frank Lowe and a grandson, Jonathan Lowe. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joann Stancliff Lowe, 4 sons, James (Dorothy) Lowe Jr., Jonathan Lowe, Jeffrey (Jane) Lowe and Jerrold Lowe, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. His viewing will be held on April 13, 2017, Thursday from 11-12 noon followed by funeral services at 12pm at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing Veterans Cemetery, Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
