Obituary of Anthony F. Amoroso

Anthony F. Amoroso, age 75, of Garnet Valley, PA, passed peacefully at home on March 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia to the late Joseph and Emma Silvestri Amoroso. He has resided in Garnet Valley for the past 10 years and previously lived in Collingdale, PA, where he raised his family. Tony spent the majority of his career employed by Conrail and retired after 38 years. After retirement he worked as a Courier at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital for 10 years. In his children's younger years, he coached football at St. Joseph's CYO in Collingdale. Tony was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching horse racing at the track. He was a devoted family man who cherished time spent at his grandchildren's sporting, music, and school events. In addition to his parents, Tony is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth Cotter Amoroso, 4 children, Lisa (William) Kilgallon, Anthony (Betsy) Amoroso, Amy (William) Covert, and Elizabeth Ann (Steven) Maiers, 10 grandchildren, A.J., Billy, Michael, Emma, Aidan, Julia, Steven, Ben, Nate, and Elizabeth, and 2 siblings, Emidio Amoroso and Mary Anne Bussone. A viewing will be held on Friday, 12 noon until 1:30 pm followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 1:30PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA. Interment, private.
