Obituary of Barbara A DeRicco
Barbara "Barb" A. DeRicco, age 71, of Upper Chichester, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and pets on January 4, 2024. Born in Chester, PA, Barb was raised and lived in Wallingford, PA, before residing in Upper Chichester for the past 20 years.
Barb, along with her brother Rick co-owned Marcus Hook News Stand for 23 years until 2008. She later worked at Harrah's Casino in Chester until 2021 and most recently served as a school bus aide for the Chichester School District. Barb was a 1971 graduate of Penn State University.
Barb loved games of any type. She had a particular fondness for board games and games of chance. She was often at her happiest in front of her favorite slot. She was an avid fan of the Phillies and Eagles. She looked forward to dressing in team colors on game day and cheering each home-run or touch-down.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome S. and Evelyn Much Epstein, and her brother, Richard M. Epstein. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Robert "Bob" J. DeRicco; her two children, Amy R. DeRicco and Jeremy S. DeRicco; and her cherished grandson, Maximus R. DeRicco. Barb was loved by her cousins Francine Bright (Rob) and Marcie Pinsky as well as her nephews Micha and Benjamin Epstein and her great-nephew Newsom.
