Obituary of John F. Thompson

John F. Thompson, age 61, of Aston, PA, passed away on December 15, 2024, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). He was born and raised in Johnsonburg, PA. John was a longtime resident of Brownsville TN. He relocated to the Philadelphia area 10 years ago to be closer to his family. A proud alumnus of Penn State University, he earned his master's degree in mechanical engineering and remained a passionate supporter of Penn State wrestling throughout his life. John had a deep interest in history, especially World War II, and found joy in the serenity of trout fishing. He will be remembered for his love of learning, dedication to his family, and dry sense of humor. Preceded in death by his parents, John R. and ValJean Rosenhoover Thompson, John is survived by his beloved daughter, Sara L. (Joseph) Patricelli; his sisters, Jodi (William) Park and Julie Urbancic; and five cherished nieces and nephews: Amber and Taylor Urbancic, and William, Tyler, and Elizabeth Park.
