Obituary of Joseph C. Racine

Joseph C. Racine, age 72 of Garnet Valley, PA passed away suddenly at home on November 11, 2024. Joe was born in Chester, PA to Joseph and Grace Racine. He was a resident of Garnet Valley for the past 10 years, previously residing in Upper Chichester, PA. He was a 1969 graduate from Chichester High School. Joe served his community as a Police Officer for Delaware County for 35 years retiring December 31st, 2010. He was also a dedicated Fireman and member of the Ogden Fire Company for over 50 years where he served as Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief and also on the Board of Directors. He was a member of the Delaware County Fireman's Chief Association. Joe was a former member of Holy Saviour Catholic Church in Linwood, PA. He enjoyed his family, hanging out at Grottos Pizza, also oldies music and his daily morning word search. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Jordan who died in 2017. Joe is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda M. Racine (nee Graham), 3 children, Joseph Racine Jr., Melinda Schumacher and Nicholas (Megan) Senchishin, 3 brothers, George, John and Robert Racine, 4 sisters, Rose Scott, Mary Shied, Josephine Soroka and Grace Barnes Hayes and 8 Grandchildren, William, Jacob, Kylie, Anneliese, Andreas, Shane, Chase and Joey. A viewing will be held on Monday, November 18th, from 9:30-11:00AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11AM. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Joseph's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital (stjude.org).
