Obituary of Mary R. Kane

Mary R. Kane, of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, at Brandywine Haverford Estates. Mary was born in Philadelphia, PA, Mary resided for the past 17 years in the Foxfield Community in Garnet Valley, PA. She previously lived in West Chester, PA and Drexel Hill PA, Mary graduated from West Catholic High School in Philadelphia. She was employed at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Finance for over 20 years. Devoted to her Catholic faith she was a member of St. John Fisher Church where she volunteered in many ways. She was also a past member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Drexel Hill and St. Peter and Paul in West Chester. She loved shopping with her daughter and donating her time to many charities. Preceded in death by her parents Earl and Catherine Reed. Her beloved husband of 55 years, Joseph F. Kane, who passed away in 2020, and her son, SSGT Joseph M. Kane, who was tragically KIA in 2006 while serving in Iraq. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne M. (Michael)Vogel ; her sister, Patricia ( Barry) Shay, her Grandchildren Michael Jr, Amanda and Andrew (Hannah), Great Grandaughter Olivia, her Best Friend Maryann and many dear cousins, family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, PA. A visitation will take place prior to the Mass from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
