Obituary of Gertrude Herman

Gertrude Mary Herman, of Laurel, DE, and formerly of Boothwyn, PA., died on November 5, 2024, at 99 years of age. She was born on August 16, 1925, in Westmoreland County, PA, to John and Florence Schott, and grew up on a farm in Bethel Township, PA. After school she married the love of her life, Albert Herman, and raised two children, Judith A. Davis and Allen L Herman. Gert and Al built a home on Second Ave., Boothwyn, where they lived most of their lives. Once her children were in school, she had several jobs outside the home, the last of which was at Fibre-Metal Products Company. She also created jewelry which was sold in several locations in Delaware County. Upon retirement, she was active in the Upper Chichester Senior Citizens Center. She is predeceased by her husband, Albert; her brother John Schott; sisters, Dorothy Evans Gray and Josephine McDaniel; son-in-law, Paul Davis; and step-grandson, Paul Davis. She is survived by her children; two grandchildren, Andrew Herman and Christine Davis; two step-grandchildren, Lenora Martin and Brian Davis; four great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild. A visitation will take place on Thursday, November 21 from 1:00-2:00PM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk, Rd, Garnet Valley, PA followed by a funeral service at 2:00PM. Interment, Siloam Cemetery, Garnet Valley, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
