Obituary of Joanne Eleanor Murtaugh

Joanne Eleanor Murtaugh, "GiGi," 85, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Shamokin, PA to the late Stanley and Mildred Laskowski Zdan and was a lifelong resident of Delaware County.

Joanne graduated from the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur Catholic High School in Media, PA. Joanne worked as an administrator for the marketing consultant group, ICR, for over 20 years, where she thrived. She was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and had a passion for outdoor activities, especially golf. Above all, Joanne cherished time spent with her family, particularly treasuring memories of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Joanne is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Michael Murtaugh, who passed away in 2013; her sons, Robert Murtaugh (2007) and John F. Murtaugh (2017); and her brother, Francis Zdan. She is survived by her son, Michael (Nadine) Murtaugh; daughters-in-law, Laura Murtaugh and Lee Schlosser; sister, Marie Santoro; sister-in-law, Debbie McDevitt; brothers-in-law, Denny (Sharon) Murtaugh, Chris (Nancy) Murtaugh, and Terry (Erica) Murtaugh, grandchildren, Michael Murtaugh, Jody (Damien) Vrontisis, Amanda (Jason) Cassidy, Jay Murtaugh, Lea (Mike) Ruggiero, and Jessica Murtaugh; as well as 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will take place Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM. Interment, S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joanne's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital (stjude.org).
