Dear Ricci & Morin families,
We understand too well the hole that has been left in each of your hearts at the passing of Poppop Ricci. He was a man of great character and consistency, who loved his family with a deep, fierce conviction and pride. Many of us from the Garnet Valley area have vivid experiences of Mr. Ricci, mostly involving him watching the sports prowess of his grandchildren. He was always interested in people and made you feel that he really cared when asking about your own family. We will always, always remember those two Garnet Valley lacrosse seasons when the girls won the 2011 & 2012 PA State Lacrosse Championships. Mr. Ricci was there for every game and every GV athlete involved in those teams became his granddaughters at that time. He cared so much and wanted the best for each of them! We’ll always have the best memories of him and leave you with some iconic, appropriate words from Emerson that seem to be written about your father and grandfather. These words explain the real meaning of success in one’s lifetime:
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate the beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.
Perfect words to sum up Len Ricci’s life. He made an impact!
Be well and know that he is always with you! Much love,
The Heavens Family

I played baseball on the Upper Chichester High School baseball team with Len, always easy going and quiet but very kind and friendly. He was an outstanding Third Baseman. Please accept our sincere condolenses. He left a significant legacy for family, friends and coworkers.

To the entire Ricci Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Pop Pop Ricci was a really kind, sweet man. He truly did have a long, productive life and fortunately for all of us, our parents were intertwined for a good many years. Not only were he and Mom Mom Ricci amazing grandparents to their own grandchildren but wonderful grandparents and supporters to their grandchildren’s friends…how lucky were our children. Sitting in the stands at every sporting event, attending school events and there for every religious milestone. Friends and family were everything. What a legacy he has left behind! His soft spoken voice will be missed. He was truly a gentleman…in every sense of the word. We are all sad his time has passed but proud to have known him. Great love is great loss and sadly the price we pay when we have loved someone who has had the privilege of a long beautiful life.❤️
Love you all,
Rick and Vanessa

Pop Pop Ricci was such a loving, kind man. I last spoke to him at Gina’s wedding and he was still asking me about lacrosse (and I was worried he wouldn’t recognize me!) Unconditional love is a grandparent sitting in their chair or uncomfortable bleachers in the rain or freezing temperatures to watch their grandchildren play. I can still see the image of them in the stands. If you are lucky enough to grow up close to your grandparents, you unfortunately experience the immense pain of losing them. We are sending so, so much love to the Ricci family during this time.
