Obituary of Sharon Elaine Helms

Sharon Elaine (Alexander) Helms, age 84 years, of Media, PA, passed away peacefully at Riddle Hospital in Media, PA on September 8, 2024. Born September 19, 1939 in Monroe, Michigan to Edward and Fredna Alexander, Sharon grew up in Toledo, OH as the eldest of 7 siblings, graduating from Scott High School and the Riverside Hospital School of Nursing to earn her RN degree. She married the love of her life Jon on 19th August, 1961 and recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Formerly of Todmorden Drive in Wallingford, Rose Valley, PA, Jon and Sharon moved over a decade ago to live in the Riddle Village community in Media, PA.

Sharon was a giving soul who cared deeply for all, leaving a legacy of kindness to everyone she met and volunteering to help many throughout her long life. She smiled with a kind word to every person she encountered. She will be remembered writing countless personal notes and cards that are treasured by all, and will be dearly missed.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Jon D. Helms and their four children Becky Rebecca (Dan) Helms Vandenberg, David M. (Kristin) Helms, Mitzi Mary (Uri) Helms Bangio, and Susan J. Helms; by her siblings James (Gayle) Alexander, David Alexander, Mary (Jim) Cross, and Edward (Colleen) Alexander; by her grandchildren whom she adored Dr. Jonathan D. Vandenberg, Alexander K. Vandenberg, Zachary W. Helms, Nathaniel D. Helms, Eli Emerson E. Helms, Daniela L. Bangio, Yonatan D. Bangio, Talia S. Bangio, and Benjamin R. Helms-Johnson. She is predeceased by her parents, her brother Fred Alexander, her sister Joy (Alexander) Molsberry, and her grandson Avi Bangio.

Visitation on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA.

Celebration of Life memorial reception on Friday, September 20th, 2024 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Riddle Village, 1048 W. Baltimore Pike, Media, PA.

Burial will remain private.
