Obituary of James Allen Wright

James "Jimbo" Allen Wright, 63, of Claymont, DE, passed away suddenly at his home on August 27, 2024. Born and raised in Chester, PA, James then moved to Wilmington, DE, and spent the past 34 years in Claymont, DE. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald S. Wright, in 1982, and his brother, Donald E. Wright, in 2015. James is survived by his wife, Katherine Mahoney Wright, and his two children, Karlie Wright (Elisha Armstrong) and Morgan Wright (Matthew Arrabal). He was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first grandchild, Liam, due on November 13. James is also survived by his mother, Roseanne Toth Wright, his sister, Sandra A. Simmons, and several nephews and nieces. A dedicated employee, James worked, as he called himself, an erosion control specialist (landscaper) for Brandywine Nurseries for the past 42 years. He was a proud graduate of Brandywine High School, Class of 1979. James was an avid fan of Philadelphia sports, with a particular love for the Eagles. He enjoyed spending his free time golfing, playing cornhole, beach volleyball, and Friday night and Sunday dinners with his best friend Bruce Davis. He spent a considerable amount of time coaching and supporting his daughter’s sports. A sociable and warm-hearted individual, James was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #74. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11:30 AM.
