Obituary of Mary Ann Kology

Mary Ann Kology, age 73, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on June 13, 2024, at Wilmington Hospital. Born and raised in Randolph, N.J., Mary Ann was the beloved daughter of Bernard and Margaret O'Leary Uszenski. She attended Randolph High School, Class of 1969, and Glassboro State College, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Class of 1973.

In 1970, she met Thomas Michael Kology in Wildwood, NJ. They were married in 1974 and were celebrating 50 years together this year. Tom and Mary lived together in New Jersey and started a family with the birth of their first child in Connecticut. They then moved to Virginia, Texas, Pennsylvania, and finally Delaware.

Mary Ann dedicated many years to teaching at St. Cornelius School before retiring in 2009. Her passions included reading books, supporting the Phillies, caring for her pets (Winnie and Millie), spending time with her friends, and staying connected with her former students. Above all, Mary Ann cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mary is predeceased by her parents and her sister Nancy Vandergeest. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Michael Kology, her four children: Kathryn Corwin (Gavin) Conner, Sarah Helen (Karl) Warner, Samantha Ann (Randolph) Garvine, and Christopher Michael (Bailey) Kology, her brother Michael (Patti) Uszenski, and her seven grandchildren: Henson Corwin Conner, Lilian Belle Warner, Milo Benjamin Warner, Lucille Mae Garvine, Josephine Virginia Garvine, Evelyn Mary Garvine, and Ingrid Fox Kology.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, located at 160 Ridge Rd, Chadds Ford, PA 19317. This will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Interment will remain private.
