Obituary of Edward Stuart

Edward J. Stuart ( Stryjewski ), 89, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. In his final days and breath, Ed was surrounded by his loving family as they provided him great care and comfort. Born August 29, 1934, in the windy city of Chicago, he was the son of Edward and Jennifer Stryjewski. Ed was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1953 – 1956. He was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, and served as a chef. While in Chicago, Ed met his future wife, Shirley and they had 7 children. Together, the family lived in various states throughout the country, including California, Colorado, and Illinois, and finally settled in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He loved his Chicago Cubs… just a bit more than the Phillies! Also, he loved the Philadelphia Eagles. He was able to experience the joys of all of his favorite teams winning world championships!

Ed loved his 7 children and their spouses, Christine Truitte (William), Lauire (pre-deceased), Susan Harlan (James), Julie Bastian (Edward), Daniel Stuart (MaryAnn), Thomas Stuart (Lisa) and Barbara Paciotti (John), 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Ed will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, his daughter Laurie, his great-granddaughter Lydia, son in-law James Harlan, his parents Edward and Jennifer, his brother Ron and many, many former colleagues and friends. Special mention to his brother Robert Stryjewski (Carol), nephews Mark Stryjewski (Donna) and Rich Stryjewski and numerous other nieces and nephews.
