Obituary of Sharon A. Alexander
Sharon A. Alexander, age 83, of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully on May 10, 2024 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Wilmington. Her family is extremely grateful for the loving care she received while residing there.
Born to Chauncy and Beatrice Cox DePue, she grew up in Whitney Point, NY where she married her high school sweetheart, Dean Thomas who passed away in 1966. After marrying John Alexander in 1973, she resided in Glen Mills, PA for over 50 years prior to moving to Middletown then Wilmington, DE.
Sharon and John created Tidewater Utilities, Inc., a water utility company that operates throughout the state of Delaware. As avid antique car collectors, Sharon and John belonged to several car clubs, enjoying many likeminded friends and tours throughout the U.S. She was extraordinarily creative and enjoyed sewing, painting, pottery, decorating with antiques, and many other art forms. But her favorite activity was caring for beloved pet cats of which she had many throughout her lifetime.
In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, John F. Alexander. She is survived by children, Deanne (Scott) Ross, and Stephen (Late Karyn) Alexander, grandchildren, Katie Ross, Shannon Ross, Amy (Travis) Piser, Randy Alexander, and Jake Alexander, siblings, Leon DePue, Carolyn Rudginis, Judy Aasa, and Chuck DePue, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
