Obituary of Karen F. Vickers

Karen F. Vickers, age 79, of Townsend, DE passed away on March 16, 2024 at her home, surrounded by family. Born to Alfred C. Sr. and Dorothy Elizabeth Delaney Howett in Chester, PA, Karen has resided in Townsend for the past 13 years, previously residing in Upper Chichester, PA. She graduated from Chester High School, Class of 1962 and went on to obtain her Associate's degree. Karen owned and operated, along with her husband Bob, KV Excavating and Wastewater LLC from 1989 to 2017 when she happily retired. She was very sociable and enjoyed bass fishing, Bingo, shopping, and getting manicures. Most of all, Karen loved her family and spending time with her grandkids. In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded in death by her son, Vincent Vickers (2008), siblings, Janice Whittaker (2020), Alfred C. Howett Jr. (2021), grandchildren, Bobby "Bo" Vickers (2003), Clark Turner Jr (2016), Vincent Vickers (2020), Joseph C. DiMatteo Sr. (2021), and great-granddaughter, Jolie Maze (2021). She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bobby R. Vickers, children, Bobby "Todd" Vickers (Susan), Jennifer Vickers DiMatteo, and Victoria "Vicke" Vickers, grandchildren, Kim (Daniel), Sydnie, Kris, Willow, Hannah, Jess (Albert), Jamie (Zakey), Cheyenne, and Leigha, and great-grandchildren, Joseph Jr., JaeLynne, Bryson, Kolton, Jacob, Kamryn, Kaylei, Jagger, Kaysen, Kaleb, Amelia, Lilah, and Rylee.
