Obituary of Annette Catherine Wier

Annette Catherine "Nan" Wier, age 90 of Upper Chichester, PA passed away on March 9, 2024 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Old Forge, PA, Nan resided for the past 19 years in Creekside Village in Upper Chichester, previously residing in Montrose, PA where she raised her family. An Interior Designer, Nan worked for Ethan Allen Co. in Vastal, NY for 15 years before retiring in 1992. She graduated from Falls Overfield High School, Class of 1952 and NY School of Interior Design in 1953. Nan was a member of the Church of the Holy Child and the social committee at Creekside Village, organizing the social events and golf outings. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, decorating for the holidays, and was an excellent cook and hostess. In addition to her parents, Santo and Bridget Sirianni DePadova, Nan is preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Wier who passed in 1989. She is survived by two sons, Michael (Cathy) Wier and Patrick (Jan) Wier, loving partner of 25 years, Richard Araskewitz, brother, Michael (Marie) DePadova, and two grandsons, Matthew and Ryan Wier. A visitation will be held on Friday, 9:15-10:15AM, at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Road, Wilmington, DE at 11:00AM. Interment will be held privately at Old Forge Cemetery, Old Forge, PA. Donations in her memory may be made to American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
