Obituary of Charles N Landis III

Charles N. Landis III "Charlie" age 74 of Brookhaven, PA passed away on January 21, 2024 at Springfield Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. Charles was born and raised in Chester, PA by his late parents Charles Jr. and Dorothy Stillman Landis. Charlie was a resident of Brookhaven for the past 42 years. He worked as a Millwright for the Local Union 1906 (Currently Local Union 219) for many years before retiring in 2002. Charlie was known for playing Santa Clause for the members, and children at the annual Union Christmas parties. After retirement, he served as a subject matter expert for new textbooks for Millwrights on Mechanical Power Transmission Systems. Charlie was known to love golf, and cars, as he was an avid Corvette enthusiast. He was a member of the Chester Masonic Lodge 709, formerly Lodge 236. He also is a member of the Tall Cedars Penn Forest #21, and the Brandywine Forest #20. A loving grandfather, he watched his granddaughter Brianna daily from when she was 3 months old. In addition to his parents, Charlie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Landis, 2 children; Dawn Alonso, and Amy (Andrew) Clemens, sister, Susan (Joe) Chester, 2 grandchildren; Michael Alonso, and Brianna Clemens, In-Laws; Charlene and Harry Trader, Joe and Sandra Hampel, and Charles Hampel, and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A viewing for Charlie will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 9:30AM-11AM at Pagano Funeral Home 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA. A Funeral Service will follow at 11AM.
