Obituary of Thomas Graeme Lutz
Thomas Graeme Lutz, 87, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Bryn Mawr, PA passed away on December 13, 2023, at Rose Court at Maris Grove. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel at Maris Grove, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11AM with Reverend Dick Howarth officiating. Visitation will be held at the Chapel prior to the service from 10 to 11AM.
Tom was born in Elizabeth, NJ to Leroy and Beulah (Strayer) Lutz on March 1, 1936, and was raised in Short Hills, NJ. He graduated from Millburn High School in 1954 and Lehigh University in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and was a proud member of the Chi Phi fraternity. He was a USAR veteran. During his 40+ year career, Tom worked as a mechanical engineer for several companies, but probably found his true passion preparing income tax returns for more than 45 years, first for H&R Block and eventually independently. He enjoyed cooking on the grill, gardening, golf, bridge, and big band music. A natural athlete, he enjoyed playing tennis, horseshoes, and Bocce ball even though he had been blind in one eye since childhood. Tom was an avid sports fan and never missed a game when his daughters were playing. He had a great sense of humor. He was a member of the Do Nothing Club. Tom absolutely loved the beach and ocean, first the northern NJ beaches as a child, later the southern NJ beaches (especially Stone Harbor), and eventually the Outer Banks. He also enjoyed many trips all over the world with friends from Maris Grove. Tom is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillemor; daughters Linda (Miles), Anne (James), and Susie (Drew); and grandchildren Charlotte, Wyatt, Asa, Sean, Benjamin, and Sidney.
