Obituary of Aredin Ymeraj

Aredin Ymeraj, age 80, of Chadds Ford, PA, passed away on September 29, 2023. Born and raised in Dukat-Vlorë, Albania, Aredin resided in Chadds Ford for 11 years, previously residing in Philadelphia. He migrated to the U.S. in September 2006 to be with his older daughter and her children. In December 2008, newly back from Albania, Aredin had a stroke, his new condition making it difficult to return home from the hospital. Aredin was a generous, hardworking, dedicated family man, a loving husband, father, and grandfather who earnestly spent his life present to the close and extended family, focused in helping others. In the last decade, despite being unable to stand, Aredin cared unremittingly for the emotional well-being of his wife, Rabihanë. He lived as a bard with the passion of a spoken-word savant.

In addition to his parents, Ali Ymeraj and Qerime Shehaj Ymeraj, Aredin is predeceased by two sons, Ali and Erjon, and three sisters, Tarika, Labika and Meze. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rabihanë Aliaj Ymeraj, three children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
