Obituary of Michael A. McLaughlin

Michael A. McLaughlin, age 77 of Aston, PA passed away on September 20, 2023 at Chestnut Ridge. Born and raised in Chester, PA, Michael resided for the past 44 years in Aston. A billing clerk, Michael worked for Conrail for 43 years, retiring in 2008. He graduated from Chester High School, Class of 1964 and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Aston and the American Legion in Ogden. Michael enjoyed going to the casinos, golfing, sports and music. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family at the shore. In addition to his parents, James and Rita M. Turk McLaughlin, Michael is preceded in death by 4 siblings, James and John McLaughlin, Maureen Kling, and Darlene Mowll, and a grandson, Collin McLaughlin, who passed in 2021. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rita M. Kendra McLaughlin, 3 children, Michael (Tracey) McLaughlin, Paul (Charlene) McLaughlin, and Bridget (Patrick) Ward, 6 siblings, Nancy Gray, Kathleen (John) McKeon, twin brother, Robert (Dorothy) McLaughlin, Richard (Dolores) McLaughlin, Denise (William) Livesey and Cheryl (Dave Middleton) Bartkow, siblings-in-law, Pat, Lou, Duong, and Chuck, 4 grandchildren, Courtney, Shane (Abby), Evan, and Ben, and a great granddaughter, Madelyn. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, 10-11AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11:00AM.
