Obituary of Thomas Edward Hatch
Thomas Edward Hatch, age 88 of Maris Grove in Glen Mills, PA, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2023, at Rose Court at Maris Grove surrounded by his loving family. Born to George and Dorothea Ruddy Hatch in New York, NY, Tom has resided the past 4 years at Maris Grove, previously residing in Severna Park, MD, and Cherry Hill and Long Valley, NJ. Thomas was a commercial airline pilot for Pan American World Airways for many years. He served his country in the Air Force, where he was an Air Force Pilot. Tom enjoyed flying planes and owned and operated his own plane. He also was a member of several local veterans groups. He enjoyed spending time at his second home in Ocean City, NJ, and had a love of sailing. He had a passion for hockey and was an avid hockey fan and football fan. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four siblings, George Hatch, Dorothea Stalcup, Mary Hatch, and Deborah Randall. Thomas is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janice Elder Hatch; four children, Ellen Hatch, Laura (Vincent) Di Stefano, Catherine (Eric) Iversen, and Thomas Edward Hatch; four grandchildren, Nathaniel Hatch, and Elizabeth, Owen, and Audrey Iversen; and a sister, Monica (John) Blanchard. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 27th, at 10:30AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (New Church), 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills, PA.
