Obituary of Laura Rainey

Laura Rainey (Powell), age 93, of Boothwyn, PA died peacefully on December 10, 2016. Born in Suddlersville, MD, Laura has resided in Boothwyn for 60 years. Devoted to her faith, Laura is a longtime and active member of the Marcus Hook Baptist Church serving on the Missionary Society Group, the Visitation Committee and Children's Group. Laura was a homemaker and also a talented Invisible Mender and gardener who loved flowers and working in her flower beds. In addition to her parents, Norman E. and Delma E. Boyles Powell, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Rainey who died in 1988, 3 brothers, Norman Jr., Louis & John Powell and a sister, Louise Jester. Laura is survived by a daughter, Debra Kirby and a son, John (Anne) Rainey, 2 sisters, Thelma J. (Leon) Chernoff and Barbara E. Powell, 3 brothers, Calvin (Lorraine), Edward and James (Frances) Powell and 3 grandchildren, Mandy Kirby, Tom (Briana) Rainey and Doug (Devon) Rainey. Her visitation will be held on Friday, 1-2pm at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral services at 2pm. Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA. Donations in Laura's memory may be made to either the Marcus Hook Baptist Church (Bridge), or the 1st Baptist Church of Ogden in Boothwyn
