Obituary of Steven R. Silicato

Steven R. Silicato "Steve" age 64 of Aston, PA passed from this life suddenly on August 27, 2023 at his home. Steve was born and raised in Wilmington, DE. He resided and raised his family in Aston, PA for over 30 years; Steve and his family also enjoyed living in Sea Isle City, N.J. for 15 years. Steve attended Salesianum High School and graduated from St. Elizabeth's High School in Wilmington, DE. Steve loved sports and was a standout high school athlete. He graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science. Steve played both Football and Baseball for West Chester University. After graduation, Steve worked at The Glen Mills Schools as a counselor and coach. He then went on to build a successful career at Marcor Remediation and Demolition, Hunt Valley, Maryland. He elevated to the position of VP of Sales and Business Development; he also was a nationally published author and accomplished speaker in health, safety, and environmental services. In the last few years Steve began and excelled in a new career in the insurance industry, for CBM Insurance, New Castle, DE. Steve recently returned to his roots in the Environmental/Restoration industry with DKI Services as a VP in Business Development. Steve was a dedicated and loving husband, father, brother, and son. After family, his great love was singing. Through "The Smooth Sounds of Steve Silicato" Steve used his extraordinaire voice and passion for music to entertain and bring joy to his countless, dedicated fans. His huge talent was only surpassed by his heart and generosity. Steve was passionate about life; he loved his family and friends fiercely and always strived to give back and help others by giving of his time and talents. Steve enjoyed being a long-time member of the Prince of Piedmont Lodge in Wilmington. Steve was also passionate and proud of his work and membership of the Societa da Vinci.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Anthony "Tough Tony" Silicato, his beloved nephew Fabio DeNisio, and his loyal dog Duke. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Palermo Silicato of over 30 years, three children; Alexa (Marco), Steven (Rosie) and Francesca (Dom) Silicato, his mother Eileen Reid Silicato, six sisters; Ava, Antoinette, JoAnne, Lisa, and Mary Silicato, Nancy (Lawrence) DeNisio. His mother-in-law Lucy, sister-in-law Gloria (Ron) Kirkland, 2 brothers-in- law; Mike (Tracy) and Lou (Maddalena) Palermo, and many nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 9:15AM-12:15PM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 9th and Dupont Street, Wilmington, DE 19805. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30PM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
