Obituary of Joseph J. Schneider Jr.

Joseph J. Schneider Jr., age 77 of North Wilmington passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 14th, 2023 at Foulk Living, Wilmington, DE. Born in Chester, PA, he was a longtime resident of Wilmington, DE. Joe was the Owner and Operator with his partner, Jimmy Schneider, of Two J's Sandwich Shop in Chester, and in addition, he worked at Bill's Tavern, a tavern that his wife owned & managed for many years. Joe graduated from St. James H.S., class of 1963. Joe will be sadly missed by his Alumni. Joe was an avid Eagles fan and season ticket holder. He was known for his tailgating and attending all home games.  He was well known in Chester, not only by the St. James gang, but as an advocate of helping others. He was known as an Elvis fan, and his love of music. Joe enjoyed family gatherings, especially on Christmas Eve, and spending time at the pool. In addition to his parents, Joseph and Olga Zabitka Schneider, Joe is preceded in death by brother, David Schneider and a grandson, Dylan Preziuso who died as an infant. Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nadia Petryk Schneider, 2 daughters, Donna (Peej) Ricci and Gloria (Dave) Preziuso, sister in law, Kathryn (Joe) Petrella, brother in law, Walter Petryk, also several nieces and nephews as well as his partner in business and cousin, Jimmy (Paula) Schneider, 4 grandchildren, Gina (Bill) Copestick, Coley Ricci, and Angela & David Preziuso. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 AM. Interment, S.S.
