Obituary of Bernard Joseph White Jr.

Bernard Joseph White, Jr., age 87 of Wilmington, DE passed away on July 25, 2023 at his residence. Born to Bernard Sr. and Stella Dzedzy White in Chester, PA, he has resided for the past 42 years in Wilmington, DE, previously residing in Aston and Chester, PA. Bernie served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from Temple University and was a High Voltage Electrical Tester for over 40 years. Devoted to his faith, Bernie was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Wilmington, DE. where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Eagles. Bernie enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, and fishing. His happy place was his house at the New Jersey Shore. Most of all, Bernie loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. Bernie is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Susan Grohmann White, daughter, Stephanie (Michael) Tosto, son, Brian White, brother, Robert White, granddaughters; Natalie Towers, Madelyn, and Sophia Tosto. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd, Wilmington, DE from 10-11AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11AM. Interment will be at a later date on Tuesday, August 22, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE at 11AM.
