Obituary of Albert DeFrank
Albert DeFrank, age 94 of Boothwyn, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 3, 2023 at State Street Assisted Living in Dover, DE. He was born to Maurice and Marianna DiTomaso DeFrank in Boothwyn, PA. Albert, a lifelong resident of Boothwyn, had moved to Millsboro, DE in summer of 2022 to be near his children. Albert was a backhoe and heavy equipment operator and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 542 for 70 years and was known as a 1st class backhoe operator. Albert was devoted to his faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Ogden. One could always find Albert at the famous Booths Corner Farmers Market where he loved to walk around spending quality time with friends and family. Albert also enjoyed driving around and visiting friends, and family. He was also a regular at the Chi Restaurant and Sage Diner. Albert loved Italian food and dining at “Mrs. Robino’s”, leading him to his family nickname of "Meatball". Mostly Albert loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lamphear DeFrank who died in 2010, and siblings; Louis DeFrank, Michael DeFrank, Mary Stipe, Anthony DeFrank, Maurey DeFrank, Lena Fiorelli, Frank DeFrank, Elizabeth Cosgrove, and Dominic DeFrank. He is survived by his 4 children, David DeFrank (Ramona), Albert DeFrank (Dawn), Robert DeFrank (Deb), Renee DeFrank and 2 step children; Robert Lamphear (Millie) and Anita Waddington (Bob), many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great nieces, and great nephews. A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 9:30-10:30AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30AM.
