Obituary of Michael A. Abbott

Michael "Mickey" A. Abbott, age 78, of Brookhaven, PA passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Wallingford Nursing Home, Wallingford, PA. Born and raised in Chester, PA, a son of Patrick and Margaret Bryan Abbott, Michael had resided in Brookhaven for the past several years, previously residing in Trainer, PA for over 50+ years. Mickey was a fireman with the City of Chester Fire Department for 24 years, prior to retiring in 1996. He was an Honorary member of the International Association of Fire Firefighters, Local 1400, Chester, PA. Michael was a former parishioner at Holy Saviour Catholic parish. He enjoyed working on cars and completing woodworking projects. In addition to his late parents, Mickey was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Grace Abbott who passed away in 2008, his step-granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Durkee and his sister, Marguerite Estock. He is survived by his step-children, Rose Marie Healy, John (Renee) Knarr, Joseph (Cora) Knarr, Andrew Knarr, Jacklyn (Wayne) Doud, his 10 step-grandchildren, several great step grandchildren and his brother, Patrick Abbott. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 9 AM to 10AM at the Pagano Funeral Home Inc, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA. followed by a funeral service at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mickey's honor to the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org).
