Obituary of Roland R. Cecconi Jr.

Roland "Ron" R. Cecconi Jr., age 69, of Chadds Ford, PA passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023, surrounded by family. Born to Roland R. Sr. and Nedra Schleig in Philadelphia, PA, he has resided in Chadds Ford for 19 years, previously residing in Phoenixville, PA for 21 years. Ron graduated from Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School, Class of 1971, and received his bachelor’s degree in business management from Ursinus College in 2001. He worked as a procurement and contract manager for Unisys for 9 years, then as a senior global IT hardware procurement manager for AstraZeneca for 18 years, and retired in 2020. Soon after, he worked as a driver for David Dodge. He was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church. Ron enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, video games, and billiards. He was also an avid sports enthusiast and especially loved the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. No matter where Ron went or who he was with, he always had a way of bringing light and laughter to everyone around him. He always loved to entertain and be around people, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his sister, Marianne Mowery, and brother-in-law, James (Jimmy) Sapp. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Patricia A. (Piekarski) Cecconi, daughter, Amanda L. (Charles "Casey") Farrell, siblings, Sharon Sapp, Francis (Kimberly) Cecconi, brother-in-law, Gary Mowery, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 2nd, from 9:30-10:30AM at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Rd, Chadds Ford, PA followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's memory can be made to Penn Medicine (pennmedicine.org/giving).
