Obituary of Russell C. Stewart

Russell C. Stewart, age 83, of Aston, PA died peacefully on November 30, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he graduated from Overbrook High, class of 1951. Russ then entered the Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, he met and married the girl of his dreams, Dorothy Grace Ezzie. Together they began their family in Yeadon, PA and after 7 years, moved to their home of 47 years in Aston, PA. Russell retired from American Fiber Co. after 40 years as a Die Maker. In addition to his fun loving personality, he enjoyed playing the guitar with his family entertaining at many family gatherings. At one time, Russell coached Aston AA football for 16 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his loving wife, children, and grandchildren. He also was devoted to his faith belonging to St. Joseph Church in Aston. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Susan Campbell Stewart and 2 siblings, Harry Stewart and Bunny Bickle. Russ leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Grace Stewart, children, Russell (Luvy) Stewart, Douglas (Bernice) Stewart and Lisa Marie (Shawn) Firestine, and 6 grandchildren, Ryon, Brandy, Eric, Jessica, Anthony and Nicole. His viewing will be held on Wednesday, 8:45 - 10:15AM at St. Joseph Church, 3265 Concord Rd., Aston, PA 19014 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Interment, S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Russ' memory may be made to the St. Joseph Church building fund at the above address.
