Obituary of Francis Joseph Fabrizio

Francis J. "Fritz" Fabrizio, age 76, of Garnet Valley, PA passed away unexpectedly at Hilton Head Hospital, Hilton Head, SC on Friday, March 24, 2023. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA a son of Nicholas and Mildred DiMeo Fabrizio, has resided in Foxfield for the past 17 years, previously resided in Philadelphia, PA most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard; and a member of the American Legion Post 667 of Havertown, PA. Fritz was a parishioner of the Church of the Holy Child. He was an electrical inspector with the City of Philadelphia for 35+ years prior to retiring in 2004. Fritz was a past officer of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.  

He enjoyed traveling extensively, especially his trips to Egypt, Europe, and the U.S. National Parks with his wife and many friends. Fritz was known for being an all round handyman. Fritz loved being at his vacation home in Ocean City, New Jersey and spent time with friends and family at the Yacht Club of Sea Isle City. Fritz enjoyed socializing with his many friends, especially poker night and pot luck dinners. Known as Poppy to his grandchildren, he spent many hours playing pretend, building with legos, playing basketball, and teaching them to build things. Fritz had a warm smile, kind words, and and open ear to all who met him. 

Fritz was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marie Fabrizio; and his brother, Nicholas Fabrizio. He is survived by his wife, Susan McCausland Fabrizio; his children, John "Jay" (Curtis Fenstermacher) Hummel, Kristen Little, and Michele (Michael) Decastro; his two grandchildren, Alec Little and Marisol Decastro. Fritz is also survived by many brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 9 AM to 10 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd, Wilmington, DE at 11:00AM followed by committal at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Fritz's memory to either the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, 1901 Rockland Rd, Wilmington, DE.
