Obituary of Eleanor L. Wheeler

Eleanor Louise (Klinger) Wheeler was welcomed into heaven by the hand of her Lord and Savior on February 22, 2023. Born to John L. and Hazel P. Klinger on August 11, 1933 in her grandmother's house in Norwood, PA. She was raised in Crum Lynne, PA and graduated from Ridley Township High School, Class of 1951. As a secretary, she worked at Fibre Metal, Baldwin Locomotive Works, the Sun Oil Company, and Dupont. She enjoyed ceramics, bowling, gardening, and needlework. In her early years she was a member of The Luther League at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Woodlyn, PA. Retirement years were filled with traveling with Emmett in their Airstream, as well as a trip to Israel to see the Holy Land and Bermuda. Winters were enjoyed snowbirding in Ft. Myers, FL and shelling on Sanibel Island, FL. Her favorite vacation spot was Williamsburg, VA. Former member of Bethel Baptist Church and Marcus Hook Baptist Church, where she was an active member of Evergreens. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband, Emmett K. Wheeler Jr. Survived by her daughter Karen (Keith) Gillen, and two grandchildren, Daniel and Phoebe Gillen. Also survived by her brother John L Klinger, Jr and several cousins. Special thanks to Sandi, Julia, and Eleanor for their kindness and caring during Mom's time in hospice. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Lawn Croft Cemetery, 1000 W. Ridge Rd, Linwood, PA 19061. A celebratory reception will be scheduled at a later time.
