Obituary of Jennifer M. Honig

Jennifer "Jenna" M. Honig, age 52, of New Castle, Delaware, passed away suddenly at home on February 5, 2023. She was born in Iowa City, Iowa ; grew up in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. In later years, she lived in Philadelphia and Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. She was a registered nurse, presently working at the Helen Graham Cancer Center at Christiana Hospital for the past one and a half years. Her prior work included a career in Pediatric Oncology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for 25 years. Jenna graduated from Archmere Academy, Class of 1988, and earned her BS and RN from Georgetown University in 1992. She dearly loved her work in pediatrics, for which she received many tributes. Jenna had a special and extraordinary love of animals, which only a true lover could understand. Most of all, however, she loved her children of whom she was so very proud. Jenna is survived by her 4 children; Faye, Evelyn (Evie), Greta and Henry, her loving fiancé, Steve McElroy, parents, Don and Pat Honig, sister, Audrey Honig Geragosian (John), and her Godchild, Molly Geragosian, the father of her four children, Matthew Moosbrugger, and the many people and friends whose lives were touched with her wonderful gift of caring and concern for others. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, 9 -10:15AM at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to either the CHOP Cancer Center (give2.chop.edu) or Providence Animal Shelter (providenceac.org).
