Obituary of Diane L. Farrell

Diane Farrell, 67, died on Jan. 25, 2023 at her North Wilmington home, with her husband, Ed, and daughter, Kim, by her side. She was a loving wife and mother first and foremost. She enjoyed playing mahjong and spider solitaire on the computer, (and waiting for hours for Amazon packages to be delivered and Instacart drivers to arrive) and also a video poker handheld game she's played for years because she didn't know how to work apps on her phone :) It was endearing. She and her daughter watched The Kitchen, The View, and Pioneer Woman almost every night. They loved spending time together. She also enjoyed many cruise vacations. Diane was born in Chester and graduated from Interboro High School. She and Ed were working at the same restaurant when they met. They married in 1976 and had a wonderful daughter in 1979. While he served in the U.S. Merchant Marines, she raised Kim and ran their home. She had many odd jobs, probably just to get out of the house. She worked retail and at a call center, but her main profession was as a Realtor. She went to University of Delaware for her certificate and for years loved what she did. Then she became an assistant to Cole Realty brokers Peggy and Bob. They were like family. She and Ed also ran an Etsy shop where they sold jewelry and other treasures that they bought at local auctions. In addition to her husband and daughter, she is survived by her siblings: Carol Roberts (William), hott sister Eileen Nibblett (Robert), Harry Gremminger (Dawn), and Dawn Grossman (Michael); and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, Fred, a blessing and a curse to her, but she and the dog loved each other very much. Donations in her memory may be made to the MS Society.
