Obituary of Arthur J. Dyer

Arthur "Art" J. Dyer, Jr., age 92 of Glen Mills, PA passed away on November 18, 2022 at Paoli Hospital. Born to Arthur J. and Helen Stoll Dyer, Sr. in Philadelphia, PA, he has resided the past 23 years at Fox Hill Farm in Glen Mills, PA, previously residing in Holy Cross Parish, Springfield, PA for 35 years. Art worked for 50 years in the graphic arts industry in Philadelphia at Provident Mutual Insurance Company and the Garrison Printing Company. Art graduated from West Catholic Boys High School, Class of 1948, and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Art was a former President of the Lithographic Club of Philadelphia, a former President of West Catholic Boys Alumni Association, and a Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus, De La Salle Council, No. 590. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, playing cards, traveling, and reading, and was active in the Fox Hill Farm community. In addition to his parents, Art is preceded in death by his sister, Helen Votta, and is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Elizabeth Votta Dyer, his son, James "Jim" (Yvette) Dyer, daughter, Diane (Kevin) Mehlmann, and five grandchildren; Mary Elizabeth Dyer, Catherine Anne (Peter) Dyer Eleutheriou, Emily Grace Dyer, Ryan Patrick Mehlmann, and Brett Arthur Mehlmann. He is also survived by sister-in-law Maryann (Charles) Whisman and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on December 27, 2022, at Church of the Holy Child, Wilmington, DE. Visitation will be at 11 am followed by Mass at 12 pm. Interment will remain private. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
