Obituary of Billy O. Moody

Billy O. Moody, age 92, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away at his home on November 11, 2022. Bill was born in Nashville, TN to Herman Moody and Belle Osborne. Bill graduated from DuPont High School in Old Hickory, TN in 1948. He attended Virginia Tech where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1952. He served in the US Army at Fort Monmouth, NJ and the Pentagon, Washington DC as a First Lieutenant. Bill worked for the DuPont Company for 33 years in various positions and at various locations including the Savannah River Plant, Beaumont, TX and Wilmington, DE.

Bill was a lifetime member of the Wilmington Power Squadron and proudly served as Commander during his tenure. He enjoyed spending time boating on the Chesapeake Bay on his boat "Tuffy" with his family. Bill loved raising dogs with his wife Carol, who were members of the Greater Valley Forge Rhodesian Ridgeback Club and was active in Ridgeback rescue.

In addition to his parents Bill is preceded in death by his sister Celia Antonson, he is survived by his wife of 69 years, Carol F. Moody (nee Frohreich), his daughter Kimberly Horgan (Patrick), his granddaughters; Lindsay Horgan Keene (Adam) and Bethany Horgan Miller (Matthew).

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm followed by a celebration of life service at the Chapel at Maris Grove at 3:00pm, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills PA, 19342. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bill's memory to Best Friends Animal Society (bestfriends.org) or Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). On line condolences may be made by visiting www.paganofuneralhome.com.
