Obituary of Nancy J Bott
Nancy Jane (Lundquist) Bott, age 77, of Wilmington, Delaware was welcomed into the loving arms of the Lord and reunited with her high school sweetheart and husband, Joseph J. Bott on October 1, 2022.
Born in Philadelphia PA, daughter of Richard and Leona Lundquist, she graduated from John Bartram High School in 1963 where she was a member of the National Honor Society and her High School class valedictorian. After graduation she went on to work as a secretary for Atlantic Richfield Company.
In May 1965, she married the love of her life, Joseph Bott. Joe was a devoted Shriner while Nancy was a past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile, a fraternal organization for women in support of Shriners Hospital. Together, they enjoyed many years traveling to many different places around the world.
At 39, Nancy unexpectedly became a widow and dedicated her life to raising her two daughters. She was the Administrative Assistant at St. Helena School in Wilmington Delaware for 21 years when she retired to stay home and watch her grandchildren. Throughout her time at St. Helena's, Nancy made many friendships that would last for more than 30 years. She enjoyed and very much looked forward to going out to eat on a regular basis with her lifelong friends.
Nancy had many titles, but the one she waited for the longest and loved the most was Mom Mom. She was so proud to be Mom Mom to her five grandchildren. When she wasn't watching them, you could find her volunteering at Lancashire Elementary School or at an event at Immaculate Heart of Mary School. Among one of her many talents, Nancy was an amazing seamstress. She enjoyed making clothes for her grandchildren and you could always count on matching attire at the holidays.
Nancy will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Holly (Sean) and Heather (Thomas) and her 5 grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ryan McKenna, and Erin, Tommy, and Sloane Medrow. Nancy is predeceased in addition to her late parents, by her husband, Joseph Bott, and her sister, Virginia Mateu (Tony).
A visitation will be held Tuesday October 4, 2022 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral service at 10:00 am.
