Obituary of Martha Kemfort

Martha Kemfort (nee) Tarbutton, age 93 of Upper Chichester, PA passed away on September 26, 2022 at home. Born to Joseph & Nellie Kennard Tarbutton, she was raised in Trainer, PA. Martha has resided in Upper Chichester for the past 65 years. She graduated from Eddystone High School, class of 1948. Immediately upon her gradation, she went to work at Ship & Shore in Upland until the birth of her children. In addition to her devotion to her husband, children and home, She was active in the community belonging to the Reliance Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary where she served as president, the Delaware County Ladies Auxiliary where she served as a longtime president and a member of the Trainer Mother's Club. Martha enjoyed spending time at the Marcus Hook Riverfront, whether it be watching the ships pass by or attending concerts. She also was known for enjoying her weekly Saturday Night Gaither Gospel hour, a good meal eating crabs, and was an avid Phillies fan. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin "Roofer" Kemfort who died in 2015, 6 siblings, Bobby Kennard, Jack Shockley, Catherine Shropshire, Joseph Tarbutton, Charlotte Craig and Donald Tarbutton, and a daughter in law, Patty Kemfort. She is survived by her 2 children, Sharon Kemfort & George "Eddie" Kemfort, close friend, Shelly Simmons and family, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild as well as numerous nieces & nephews. A visitation will be held on October 3rd, Monday from 10-11AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral services at 11AM. Interment Mt.
