Obituary of Joseph J. Iacono Sr.

Joseph "Joe" J. Iacono Sr., age 68 of Wilmington, DE passed away on September 23, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Chester, PA and raised in the Sun Village section of Chester, Joe was a longtime resident of Wilmington, previously residing in Chester and Brookhaven, PA. In his earlier years Joe worked in Sun Ship and Dry Dock in Chester and Eddystone, afterwards working at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia. Joe loved all Philadelphia sports and was an avid Eagles fan. He enjoyed watching TV, especially wrestling and Mash. Joe served in the National Guard during peacetime. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony J. and Freda G. Mateja Iacono and is survived by 3 children, April Iacono, Amy Iacono and Joe Iacono Jr., 5 siblings, Anthony Iacono, Linda McKniff, Dan (Yvonne) Iacono, Theresa Iacono and Sam (Eve) Iacono, 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Ward Jr., Francis Iacono and Talyah Cook, great grandson, Dominic Cortes, numerous nieces and nephews, and former wife, Denise Richmond. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, 4:00-6:00PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral services at 6:00PM. Interment will be held privately.
