Doris C. Haigh, age 85, of Garnet Valley, PA passed away on September 13, 2022 at her home. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she previously lived in Brandywine Hundred, DE, for 55 years. A graduate of West Catholic High School, she attended St. Joseph's University, both in Philadelphia. She was a founding member of the Church of the Holy Child and a lifetime member of Hall-Burke VFW Post 5447 Auxiliary, both in Wilmington. She was a member of Holy Child's quilting club, and made beautiful quilts for her family. Doris and her husband enjoyed many summers with their family at their home in Ocean City, MD. She loved beating her grandchildren at Rummikub tournaments on rainy nights at her beach house.

Doris owned a small bookkeeping business for many years, keeping the books at Church of the Holy Child, St. Patrick's, and St. Paul's Catholic churches in Wilmington, and St. Joseph's on the Brandywine in Greenville, DE. Earlier, she worked at Archmere Academy in Claymont, DE, and Alexis I. duPont High School in Greenville.

Doris was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, John T. Haigh, who passed October 2, 2021, her father, John Conick, sisters; Joan Wise and Nancy Wills, brothers; Phillip Niedelman and Harry Jones, her aunt and uncle who raised her, Anna and Jack Curran, cousins, Anne Murphy and Jack Curran, and son-in-law, Michael P. Haigh, also of Wilmington, her beloved grandchildren; Michael (Erin) Hurley, J.T. Haigh, Matthew Hurley, Ryan Hurley, Katie Haigh and Julianne Hurley, her great-niece, Patricia Wills; and great-grandson, Connor Concha.
