Obituary of Michael Scott Weil

Michael Scott Weil, Sr., age 65 of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 surrounded by his family at his home. Born to Henry John and Joan Audrey Margaret Kearney Weil in Dallas Texas and raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey; he was a Bachelor of Science graduate from Glassboro State College and was a proud alumni. Michael has resided in Wilmington for the past three years; previously residing most of his life in Marlton, New Jersey. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed coaching his son in his early years in little league baseball, basketball, and soccer. Michael loved canoeing down the Wading River in New Jersey as well as traveling, especially to Playa Mujeres, Mexico, Disney World, Florida, and San Francisco, California. He loved the band Grateful Dead, watching horse racing, and playing golf and poker. He spent his entire career successfully running the Kitchen Division of DuBell Lumber. In addition to his late parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Patrick Weil. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Giamboy Weil, who he married on February 29, 2008, "Leap Day"; his son, Michael S. Weil, Jr. and his partner, Chelsea DeStefano, step-daughter, Carly J. Friese; two sisters, Deborah (Charlie) Weil Denison and Bella Weil Saltzer, and brother, Patrick J. (Heather) Weil. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 9:00-11:00 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to honor Michael at the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network, (www.bcan.org) or to Renee's Dog Rescue (www.reneesrescues.org).
