Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Green

Mary Elizabeth Green, age 86 of Garnet Valley, PA, passed away on July 20, 2022 at Wilmington Hospital surrounded by family. Born to George and Bernice Stearns Spannbauer in Amsterdam, NY, Mary has resided the past 15 years in Winterset Farms, Garnet Valley, PA. Mary was devoted to her family, friends, and Roman Catholic faith. Mary had a wonderful sense of humor. She spent most of her life raising her five children. She later held many jobs and had the uniforms to prove it. She began bowling and making new friends when she lost her love. She lived a joyous life and never turned down a dinner invitation or a stop for ice cream. She enjoyed going to Boscovs with Millie or even just a car ride. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William J. Green, Jr. who died in 2004. Mary is survived by her children; John (Barbara) Green, Catherine (Charles) Turtur, William (Jean) Green III, Pamela (Stephen) Kushner and Karen (Michael Kertis) Nigro, siblings; Jack Spannbauer, Patricia Grandy, George Spannbauer, Linda Anderson, and Eileen Weiss, 13 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, and longtime friend, Millie Dyson. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, 9:00AM-10:00AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at St. Thomas the Apostle, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA, 19342. Interment St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery.
