Obituary of Louis DiMarino

Louis DiMarino, age 94, of Upper Chichester passed away peacefully on June 25, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boothwyn, PA, Lou as been a lifelong resident of Upper Chichester. He was a staple in the community and a lifelong member of the Boothwyn Fire Company, which began at the age of 16 in 1943 and lasting to his retirement in 1992. He served the Firehouse in many capacities. Lou was a proud veteran of the Army and served his country just after WWII stationed in Germany. He retired in 1992 from Teledyne as Supervisor, previously known as A.H. Wirz. Lou was devoted to his family and Catholic faith. He was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception of Lourdes in Marcus Hook where he was baptized as a young boy. Upon the closing of the church, he then became a member of Holy Rosary in Claymont. At one time, he also belonged to the Italian American Club where he served as president. In his spare time, Lou enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. His passion however was his wife, home and family. Lou is preceded in death by his parents, Nicola and Giovanna DiSciullo DiMarino and siblings Dominic, Mary, and Anthony DiMarino and Anne DiMarco. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Splendora Mary DiMarco DiMarino, 9 children, Nicholas (Diane) DiMarino, Janice DiMarino, Theresa (James) Venello, Gabriel (Lori) DiMarino, Diane (late Ted) Fleck, Donna Marie (Franny) Grace, Louis DiMarino (Kevin Hanks), Stephen DiMarino (Michele Dowd), and Richard (Kassandra) DiMarino, 3 siblings Stephen DiMarino, Joseph DiMarino and Susan Armideo, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday evening, 6-8pm at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA and again on Saturday at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE from 9-10:15am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Interment, Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Linwood, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louis DiMarino's memory may be made to Nicola and Giovanna DiMarino Scholarship Fund (www.neumann.edu).
