I first met John and the guys at the Little Buck Camp in Potter County in 1986 when we became camp neighbors. After camping on our property for one night in deer season, the crew from Little Buck invited us to stay with them. What a nice bunch of guys who owed us nothing but offered us everything.
After they sold their camp, the guys were welcomed into our camp and we had some great times. When I had cancer in 2004, John, Rocky, and Johnnie Birmingham came to see me one day which lifted my spirits more than I can express.
John was always a gentleman and would first ask how the family was when we would get together. He is missed but will always be present on the mountain. Rest in peace brother.
