Obituary of Thelma Ruth Chattin

Thelma R. Chattin, age 87, of Hartly, DE, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at her home. Born to George and Mabel Grace Thomas in Boothwyn, PA, she had resided in Hartly for the last year, previously residing in Dover, DE for over 40 years and Upper Chichester, PA for 11 years. Thelma had worked as a meat packer for over 15 years. She enjoyed gardening, time spent with her children and grandchildren, always very dedicated to her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Charles Chattin, Sr. who passed in 2005; and her grandson, Michael Baker who passed in 2021. Thelma is survived by her three daughters, Doris Jester, Shirley (James) Foreman and Christine (Robert) Sneddon; her two grandchildren, John Smith and Chastity (William II) Harvey; her four great grandchildren, Summer, Billy, Dylan and Heather; her three sisters, Maron Abbott, Grace Hughes and Mary Atchison. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Mt Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thelma's memory may be made to Bayada Hospice.
