Obituary of James Weaver Kelly

James Weaver Kelly "Jim", age 85 of Glen Mills, PA passed away on April 25, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born Nov. 21, 1936 to Clement W. and Mary Kernan Kelly in Montgomery County, PA. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his loving wife Barbara Joly Kelly of 61 years, son, Jim Kelly, daughters; Yvonne (Todd) Levant and Deana (Steve) Czaban, 6 grandchildren; James W. (Emma) Kelly, Austin Levant, Catherine Czaban, Olivia Grace Kelly, Luke Levant, and Megan Czaban. Jim resided the past 8 years in Glen Mills, PA, previously residing in Bar Harbor, ME, and Drexel Hill, PA. He was president and CEO of a three generation family owned textile business before retirement. He moved to Bar Harbor, ME where Jim and his wife Barbara owned and operated The Black Friar Inn Bed and Breakfast for 9 years before building their home and living there for another 19 years. Jim met Barbara on a blind date while serving his country in the Marine Corps Reserves for 6 years. He was devoted to his faith as a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Concord, PA, and was an active member of Church of Our Father in Hulls Cove, ME, and Holy Comforter in Drexel Hill, PA. Jim was a licensed Maine guide specializing in ocean kayaking. Jim loved the outdoors and was an avid fly fisherman. He loved sailing, playing tennis, skiing, and cross country skiing. Mostly Jim loved spending time with his loving family. A visitation will be held on Friday May 13, 2022,10-11AM at the Maris Grove Chapel followed by funeral services 11AM at Maris Grove Chapel. Interment, West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA. Donations in his memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Maris Grove Residential Care Fund.
